Never been to Alpenrausch, but got a chance during a bike ride through Portland Sunday to stop by and get a sausage in a crunchy baguette vessel at their new Alpenhutte outdoor patio. Went for the kasenkrainer, a big brat infused with cheese and surrounded by a delicious mustard, along with a Pilsner from Recluse Brewing. Pretty reasonable at 11, considering the higher quality. Beers are 8, but that’s the going rate at a lot of places these days. The patio is nice, with faux grass, covered seating at picnic tables and bar seats around the hut.

Definitely A-Do! Even with us ordering from the ala carte instead of the pre-fixe on Valentine's we felt the staff kept up with our needs within the demand of the full house and their outside section. Creating so much space to converse between noshes. Drinks, tastes and expectations were exceeded from ambience to service. There is a high quality&authenticity to the dishes, achieving the desired intersection of the chefs' northern Italian, Swiss and German inspirations. The escargot, fondue sauce, and spaetzle are terrific. The charm of this menu is a success and was not lost on many reviews. While however most of the hate from just a few comes from a cheapness in those diners that could have requested to have the expected gratuity removed, as stated openly on the menu. Or others that were underwhelmed by the European flavors and style, vs americanized saturation. If that's the case, spare everyone waiting on you the trouble that you don't think they're worth, and eat at Applebee's Bon Apetit

We bit the bullet and booked Alpine dinner for 4. Had drinks then dove in. The staff were fantastic, the pre-paid dinner experience was tailored to our party and provided a wonderful experience of vegetarian and hearty alpine cuisine. We loved the 3 salat course and LOVED the fondue for 4. Shared jaegerschnitzel and venison as well. Such a fun evening for two birthday kids!

Went for a birthday dinner and had the pre-paid tasting menu. When we arrived the server asked us about dietary restrictions and food preferences, which was great. We had three small plates, followed by two mains, and dessert. The mains were definitely the highlights. One fish was poached steelhead with squash in a French curry broth. The other, our favorite, was perfectly cooked venison.

We had a lovely lunch here starting with the fondue followed by a salad for you of us. It was fairly quiet on a Wednesday in February. I’d definitely go back. I liked the vibe and the food.

We visited to celebrate a friend's birthday. There were five of us, And we decided to do the tasting menu. I cannot say enough about the selections that were presented to us and how delicious they were. Are server delivered everything with perfect timing and made recommendations for wines and beers that were perfectly paired with the food. The only mark down (on atmosphere) was the cold air from the duct above us. I'm sure if it was an 85 day we would have enjoyed it more
